Tambaram being one of the oldest areas in Chennai has gained a spot in the list of top 10 preferred localities for buying a property in the city. In a recent meeting at the head quarter, the municipal head of Tambaram, V.Ravichandran has announced that there have been many new plans waiting in the line to introduce in and work of some projects are underway. As a measure to keep the area clean, UGS (Underground Sewage) programme has been executed throughout the location. Also, to avoid sewage water logging issue in and around the area, the municipality official has attempted to lay concrete roads above the sewage tanks wherever construction of sewage tanks has been occurring.
New Programmes lead to Tambaram Development:
BINS in detail referred as Solid Waste Management Programme has been introduced in 5 areas. The state government has planned to install these schemes in totally 157 areas in and around Tambaram in the near years, said the official. These programmes solve the problem rising due to garbage in the location. The government also conducted many awareness programs. As a result, residents themselves started to keep the waste separately by putting them in different dust bins which makes the work of government labors much easier. To capture the success and public behavior, in few places CCTV cameras were fixed.
The municipality has also provided bio-digesters, community kitchens and toilets are other initiatives. All the above three are connected. In slum areas, public toilets were provided along with bio-digester below as a solution for sanitation problem. Methane gas will be provided from human waste which is generated into power and send to community kitchens to provide food for more than 300 families. The city commissioner said that these steps were supported and welcomed by the local residents itself. By following this, the location has gained new face and also donated to the growth and popularity.
The civic growth along with other features like the presence of IT companies, educational institutions, road and rail connectivity etc has fuelled the demand for residential homes, commercial buildings and also residential plots in Chennai. Tambaram has come into the eyesight of NRIs (Non Resident Indians), IT professionals and HNIs (High Net Worth Individuals). Not only these people, even can we notice end users and investors coming here for potential investment.
